English IV Honors
Course of Study ENG 401-H
Honors British Literature is a rigorous college preparatory course designed to ensure college success. As a student in this class, you will read novels, short stories, drama, poetry, and nonfiction works with an emphasis on British Literature. You will analyze literary works with a critical eye, forming opinions based on evidence. You will expand your vocabulary and listening and speaking skills within the context of literature. Emphasis will be placed on learning to write with a clear voice and understanding of audience and drawing conclusions based on research or evidence found within the written works. We will also watch film and documentaries and discuss how literary devices are used in these and other media.
