Systematic Theology

Course Description

Systematic Theology is a full-year course that discusses doctrines central to the core orthodoxy
of Christianity. By the end of the course students will be able to:

  • Articulate and defend the 10 major doctrines of Christianity.
  • Develop a personal belief statement with regard to the 10 major doctrines of Christianity.
  • Present their personal belief statement with regard to the 10 major doctrines of Christianity.
  • Research the Bible to explore the theological implications of current events.

Materials Needed

  • A modern English translation of the Bible.
  • Introduction to Christian Doctrine (Textbook)
  • Three-ring binder
  • Loose leaf notebook paper
  • Pens or pencils
  • Access to a 3-hole punch, scissors, stapler, word processor, and the internet.

Class Management Policies

  • School Policies (as delineated in the Student Handbook) will be enforced.
  • Be in your seat at the bell.
  • Be respectful of others.
  • Be responsible for yourself/your work.

Grading Criteria

  • Homework/Projects = 25%
  • Quizzes = 25%
  • Participation = 25%
  • Tests = 25%
  • Total = 100%
