CHOOSE EXCELLENCE! And Remember…Colossians 3:17 – “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the father through Him.”
All Christian artists, students included, have the gift of the Holy Spirit to direct a desire in their hearts to appreciate that which is “true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, excellent, and praiseworthy.” – Philippians 4:8
The mission of the Foothill Christian High School Fine Arts Department is to provide a Christ-centered curriculum that inspires, equips, and empowers students to discover, develop, and demonstrate their God-given talents while establishing a life-long appreciation for the arts
We will fulfill our mission by:
- Providing a staff of called and committed professionals
- Fostering a nurturing environment that encourages self-expression
- Guiding students to glorify God in both the process and production
- Offering a broad 9-12 curriculum in visual and performing arts
- Preparing students to pursue fine and performing arts in higher education
- Reclaiming the arts for Christ
- Promoting responsibility in the use of students’ gifts
- Integrating Biblical principles throughout the fine arts curriculum
- Training students to be salt and light in popular culture
- Exposing students to practicing Christian artists and musicians
- Acknowledging God’s Common Grace in the arts
Our vision is to provide the students with an understanding of the Biblical foundation for the arts. God is the Ultimate Creator, and man has the gift of creativity. God gives to the artist all the necessary gift of creativity. Art and performing though music and dance is for God’s glory. To develop the student’s creative self-expression and to teach the student that art can take many forms. To develop the student’s talents in an attitude of stewardship and thankfulness to the Lord. To develop an understanding of our art heritage and the world views reflected in the works of artists, past and present. To introduce students to careers in the fields of visual and performing arts.
We will accomplish our vision by:
- Creating a program in which colleges and universities actively seek our fine arts students
- Partnering with other educational institutions to expand student exposure to the arts
- Serving the community at-large through fine arts programs and activities
