Technology
“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you, and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way; bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God…” Colossians 1:9-10
Welcome to Technology! We hope you find here in our department the tools and training needed both for personal enjoyment and for the skills necessary to enter the real world competitively. The goal of the technology classes is to equip students with the basic computer skills needed in their careers, computer-related or not, where they can be a testimony and a light to those around them who need Jesus.
These skills learned in the Technology Department cover a wide range. Students are required to take a basic computer class for graduation. From that starting point, there are more directions to pursue should the interest be there.
Are you a beginner on the computer? Start with Computer One to give you the skills needed for Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Power Point Presentations, and other basic skills needed to complete school assignments and real world situations. You will learn Office 2007 in the process.
From there you might want to try your hand at some graphic design. You will learn Photoshop and InDesign by joining the Yearbook team.
Perhaps you relate more to video production. If that is the case, you will want to be in Multimedia. You can enjoy producing video while learning some film editing along with other media skills as well.
