DRESS CODE

Foothills Christian Junior High DOES NOT require students to wear uniforms.  All students must adhere to the following code.  A student’s manner of dress or general appearance should demonstrate respect and not interfere with or disrupt the orderly operation of the classroom or school.

THE DRESS CODE AT FOOTHILLS CHRISTIAN JUNIOR HIGHSCHOOL IS BASIC:  Nothing Immoral/Everything Modest

In addition, students may not have or display any permanent body art(tattoos).

MORAL meaning:

NO sayings or pictures on clothing that are:

Demonic in nature or against Christianity, a poor example to others, articles that involve emblems pertaining to gangs, drugs, tobacco, alcohol, sex, death, mutilation, or violence, groups or bands that depict any of the above.

 

MODEST meaning:

The following items are not to be worn:

Strapless shirts                         Tube tops                  “See-through” garments

Midriff shirts                             Halter Tops               Tank tops

Spaghetti Straps

Garments that reveal cleavage, undergarments or lack thereof

**Shirts and tops must come to the edge of the shoulder or cover the shoulder

**Sagging pants/shorts are not allowed-pants must fit at waist.

**Skirts or dresses worn with leggings must be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee (measured when kneeling).  Skirts and dresses worn without leggings must touch the top of the knee.

**Shorts must be Bermuda length (no shorter than 4 inches above the knee, when kneeling).

**One-piece bathing suits are to be worn at any school function offering bathing suit use.  A Tankini or “board shorts and a tee-shirt” are not an acceptable substitute.

OTHER ACCESSORY ITEMS NOT TO BE WORN:

No jewelry requiring body piercing in areas other than the earlobe.  NO studded jewelry of any kind including studded wrist or ankle bands, rings, necklaces, gloves and belts.  No chains are to be worn, even for wallets.

HATS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE WORN IN THE CLASSROOMS!
